“Beauty In and Out”Event Made Possible by Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Grant
The basement of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in New Berlin was the setting for a beauty event for teen girls.

West Oneonta, NY –   On November 16, 2013, the Abstinence Education Council hosted a program for teen girls about being attractive. A dozen young women (and several moms!) enjoyed finding out about themselves starting with Dr. Gary Smalley’s Personality Quiz, followed by a talk on what kind of character traits are unattractive/attractive. Dinner was pizza, veggies and dip and clementines for dessert. Gloria Gibbon, President of Oneonta Toastmasters, a Distinguished Toastmaster and a member of Preferred Toastmasters in New Berlin spoke on the importance of good communication. The main focus of the evening was the presentation by Linda Reese, certified Image Consultant and business professor at Utica Business college.  Linda spoke on skincare, gave a makeup demo on how to create a look that is attractive and natural and gave all a color analysis on the colors and shades that are best for cool and warm skintones.

A follow up to try out what the girls learned will be held in Edmeston on Dec. 8 with a tea/light lunch fashion show. We are deeply grateful for the help and support of Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Grant.
